Buying Your Own Porker Table?
Different poker players requires different poker table, now the question is, can you choose what poker table is the ideal one for your home?
In essence, there are three basic forms of poker table. The idea is for you to choose which one will suit your poker necessity based on its quality, the availability of space and specifically the price.
Basically, poker tables have a standard size of 84" x 42", measured as 2100mm x 1050mm or 7 feet x 3 ½ feet. The table can normally accommodate eight to ten poker players. The surface of the table is made of fiberboard (MDF) foam, this is of high quality, and it is covered with either of the following materials: rubber, vinyl or faux gaming suede.
The table should be covered with a good quality of covering that is important for smooth play, above the surface should be soft just enough for players to easily pick up the chips but firm enough to pile the chips without worrying of them tumbling down.
You can choose different styles of poker tables, take a look at these three types of available poker tables in the market and take a closer look at their good points and bad points.
1. Table Top
This is the entry level alternative. This is the cheapest poker table to acquire. This is simple and easy to assemble; first you'll need a regular table with just the same size of the table top. Place the table top on top of your regular table and that's it.
You should pick a regular table that goes with the same size of the table top to avoid the table top from tipping over. You might have a problem with the stability of the table top if you choose a smaller table for your table top.
The good point: table top is the cheapest among any other poker table in the market and you can easily store the table top when it is not in use.
2. Fold Away
This is for the mid-range buyers and it also has mid-range quality. The good point is that this fold away table is easy to store when not in use and this is easy to assemble compared to solid model tables.
The bad point is the stability of the leg. Since this is folding style the legs can be easily tilt and might easily be tipped over. Still, if you are living in an apartment this folding poker table is ideal for you.
3. Solid Construction Model type
This is the kind of poker table that is built to stay wherever you decided to set it up. All you need to do is to cash out a lot of money to afford this, this will also require more space in your home. One of the bad points aside from the fact that this table will cost more than you can imagine you cannot store this table away if not in use. And the good point is that this will let players feel that they are in a real casino with the a real poker table.
Before buying your own a poker table, consider the amount of money you are willing to cash out, the space where you want to put it and the quality of the table.
